The Gigabit Ethernet media converter is designed to bridge a 10/100/1000BASE-T signal to a 1000BASE-SX/LX signal. It's used to extend the connection distance between two Gigabit Ethernet Twisted-Pair devices via fibre cable transparently with no performance degradation.
The Gigabit converter series can support flow control both on the twisted-pair and fibre, and can use SFP LC fibre connectors for single-mode or mulitmode cables.
Especially designed for lower operating tempartures than regular gigabit converters, it has good compatibility with most popular fibre modules and fibre switches.
