PRIVACY STATEMENT


1. General
We know that it is important to you that your personal data are handled carefully. For this reason we appreciate your confidence in Black Box Deutschland GmbH handling this information conscientiously. This statement sets out your agreement to Black Box Deutschland GmbH collecting, processing and using the personal data listed below for the purposes stated here. This consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.

These privacy provisions are intended to enable you to find out about the storage and further use of your personal data so as to be able to assess the privacy-related aspects of the use of this Internet site and to make objectively based decisions about the provision of your personal data.


2. Collection and use of our customers' personal data
Black Box Deutschland GmbH uses your data to process orders, ship goods, to provide services and to process payments (including the necessary verifications in the case of purchase on account).

We also use your data to communicate with you about orders, products, services and marketing proposals, to update our records, to maintain and update your customer accounts with us and to recommend products or services that might interest you.

Occasionally you will be asked to provide us with information in online forms. Thus you may be asked to provide your user name, your full name, your telephone number, your email or postal address or other details needed for online registration or other personal data.The provision of data in online forms is always voluntary and it is your decision alone to complete the forms or not. If you do not, this may however mean that some of our products and services will not be available to you.

Communication by email: To enable us to make emails sent to you more useful and more interesting, we frequently receive a confirmation of the emails from Black Box Deutschland GmbH that you open, provided that your computer supports this function.

3. Does Black Box Deutschland GmbH pass on the information it receives?
a) Affiliated companies
Affiliated companies controlled by Black Box Deutschland GmbH, and the subsidiaries of such companies, if these are either subject to this privacy statement or apply guidelines that offer at least as much protection as this privacy statement.
b) Credit status testing and creditworthiness monitoring enterprises
Data may be passed on to the Schufa (German General Credit Protection Agency) for the purpose of checking credit status and monitoring creditworthiness.
c) Service providers
We contract other enterprises and individuals to carry out assignments for us. These include the delivery of parcels, the mailing of letters or all kinds of advertising activities, the handling of payments (credit cards, direct debit method and purchases on account). These service providers have access to the personal data they need to carry out their assignments.

However, they must not use them for other purposes. Moreover, they are obliged to treat the information in accordance with this privacy statement and the German data protection legislation.

However, as a general principle, no data is communicated, exchanged or sold to third parties other than those mentioned above.

Pursuant to Sec. 28 Para. 4 of the German Federal Data Protection Act and Para. 3 of the German Teleservices Data Protection Act, you can at any time object to and revoke your consent to the above-mentioned use and/or processing of your data by means of a notification to Black Box Deutschland GmbH. Once we receive your objection or revocation, we shall cease to use or process the data concerned and shall immediately cease to send advertising material including our catalogue.

Questions and uncertainties If at any time you should feel that BLACK BOX has not complied with these privacy provisions, please inform us by means of an email to feedback.de@blackbox.com. We shall do everything necessary to identify and solve every problem.


4. Data security
a) SSL encryption
We use Secure Socket Layer Software (SSL) to protect the security of your data during transmission. This software encrypts the information you send. This method encrypts the entire data traffic (your order, your name and your address details) between your browser and the Black Box Deutschland GmbH server, so as to prevent this data being "intercepted" by third parties. The core of SSL encryption is a separate security server on the Internet that is responsible for distributing the keys. This server ensures that there is only one key for each new connection. All you will notice is the symbol of a small lock in the status bar of your browser.
b) Issuer of the certificate
Any provider of SSL encryption must have its enterprise's identity confirmed by an official certification agency by submitting an extract from the Commercial Register. Black Box Deutschland GmbH holds a valid SSL certificate issued by Globalsign.
c) Password protection
Transactions can only be carried out by entering a valid combination of customer number and password.
d) Firewall technology
Data stored on the Black Box Deutschland GmbH systems is protected against unauthorised access by state-of-the-art firewall technology.


5. Passwords
In order to be able to buy in the online shop and/or to use one of the information systems, you will be asked to enter a password. Please note that it is your duty to ensure that this password is protected against access by unauthorised persons.


6. Amendments of these online privacy regulations
We reserve the right to amend and/or supplement these privacy regulations at any time, but will not do so without alternatively publishing the new version on this website.
