The ServSwitch™ DTX HD gives you full desktop extension - including all your favourite USB 2.0 peripherals - without any of the distance limitations or connectivity requirements of a traditional CATx or fibre extender. You only need a 100/1000Mbps IP link between your computers and the user consoles, while the ServSwitch DTX HD supplies all the connectivity you need.
DTX components
The ServSwitch DTX HD is composed of 2 elements: the local computer node (transmitter) and the remote user node (receiver) both supporting copper and fibre even in a mixed environment- as transportation media. It also accommodates routing/switching connections in real time.
In addition there is also a ServSwitch DTX Control Appliance
(DTX5000-CTL-R2) available. This 1U server acts as an administration node for multi console and/or multi computer applications. You can also use the Vesa mounting kit (DTX5000-MMK) to place the receiver deleted word behind your screen in public places or in tight working environments.
High performance video and audio
The ServSwitch DTX HD is available in both single and dual video design. Both deliver audio in CD quality along with clear, sharp 24 bit colour digital video up to 1920 x 1200 or 1080p. The dual video version accepts digital (DVI) video in, while the DTX5001 additionally supports analogue video up to 1600 x 1200. Video out can be analogue or digital with both models.
USB 2.0 connectivity
The receiver models feature 4 USB 2.0 ports to connect a USB keyboard and mouse, one USB device such as a printer, graphics tablet, signature reader etc and a virtual USB storage Media for fast and convenient patch up-dates on the connected servers.
Independent Hardware solution
You don't need to install any software on the target devices and you don't need a computer to provide connectivity at the desktop side. The DTX HD supports any operating system, all types of computers and user consoles. You get secure high quality links with minimal maintenance required.
Extender Mode
The most common application is a point-to-point extension between an user console and a rack mounted computer. The link can be either a dedicated CATx link up to 100 meters or an IP link over the existing network.
Desktop Control Mode with the DTX Controller
With the optional DTX Controller as an administration node, you can easily create multipoint applications. The Desktop Control mode allows you to deploy and administer multiple computer and user nodes on the network. An authorised user may log in at any console that is connected over a DTX HD receiver on the network and will always get a connection to his dedicated computer connected to a DTX HD transmitter. This is the ideal solution for staff members who require flexible work spaces.
Matrix Mode with the DTX Controller available in Q2 as free firmware upgrade
This mode is a real revolution in modern KVM switching and extension. Using the DTX Controller as administration node the system operator may build up a free scalable Matrix with numerous users having access to numerous computers. The operator just configures a matrix defining the access rights for each user/computer. After logging into the network, the user can easily choose the computer he needs to work on from a user friendly on screen display. It is just as simple to switch to another computer source.
Secure connections
The ServSwitch DTX HD provides secure connections with 128Bit AES encryption. In addition the DTX Controller provides detailed reports on all system activities including user IDs with target computer and display time, that can be printed or stored.
