Now you can have KVM control with high-resolution digital graphics wherever you need it! The DKM KVM extender allow you to extend DVI-D single- or dual-head video as well as USB keyboard and mouse at resolutions of up to 2048 x 1152 @ 60 Hz. Giving you maximum flexibility, this base extender can be extended with a wide range of options for peripherals and video formats.

Choose from video formats for VGA fully scalable up to 1920 x 1200, SDI and HDSDI, EGA or composite (RGBHV) video. Add bi-directional analog stereo and/or digital audio together with serial support for touch screens and other RS-232 devices. Add more USB HID channels to your system as well as transparent USB 2.0 transfers to attach even more peripherals. Whatever you need for your application, there will be the right extender design delivering great quality graphics with smooth picture movement.

Excellent DVI-D Video Quality
Thanks to the digital transmission of the video signal without any losses in the quality, images are as sharp as if they were directly attached to the workstations. The new enhanced video compression algorithms support 24-bit color depth for smooth color gradients up to resolutions of 2048 x 1152 @ 60Hz over the full distance. Even interlaced digital video such as 1080i is now supported

Distances
The fiber extenders transmit up to 800 meters over multi mode fiber and 10.000 meters over 9/125µm cable.

There are also options available up to 140 m using CATx links.

RS232/V.24 and Audio
The models with serial and audio transmit these data along with the video signals. With analog audio support you may transmit acoustic alarms from your server or music in CD quality. As it is bi-directional audio support, you may also attach a microphone to send audio back to your workstation. For an even better sound choose or new digital audio models.
The transparent RS232/V.24 transmission (6 wires) with up to 19.2Kbps allows you to connect touch screens, graphic tablets as well as other serial equipment to your system.

USB HID
The DKM KVM Extender comes in two versions with two or four USB HID ports for keyboard and mouse and equal HIDs. True USB emulation allows you to attach a wide variety of feature rich USB keyboards and mouse with full support of their extended functions

Transparent USB 2.0
The DKM KVM Extenders are optionally available with transparent USB 2.0 transfer supporting 400/480Mbps. Use these models to expand your system with up to four USB 2.0 devices like scanners, hard disks, memory sticks, printers or others at the remote end of your system (requires two additional fibers).
Note: This option will be available as of end Q1/2011.

Multiple DVI-D Video Heads
The DVI-D KVM Extenders are available in Single- or Dual-Head versions. Choose the dual video models when you have multi-video applications: you will save both space and money.

More Video Formats than ever
Besides the DVI-D channels, you may soon expand your system also a variety of extra video formats making these extenders ideal for broadcasting applications. The VGA video options is fully down and up scalable up to 1920 x 1200. Using the included remote control scaling becomes easy at both ends if the extension. Modules for SDI and HDSDI, EGI as well as RGBHV will be available soon with the modular housing concept starting with 4U 4-slot chassis or larger.

Local Monitoring
The optional DKM Video Splitter cable (ACXSPL12) provides you with a connection for a local DVI-D display. If you want to connect also a local keyboard and mouse your O/S must support multiple keyboards and mice.

Compact Housing or Modular Housing
The DKM Extenders are available in two housing formats.
The compact housing offers six model variations with fixed interface compilations on smallest footprint.
The modular housing concept (as of end Q1/2011) allows multiple compilations of interfaces both video and peripherals. There will be four different chassis types available:
A. 2-slot chassis with or without redundant power supply
B. 4-slot chassis with or without redundant power supply
C. 6-slot chassis with redundant power supply option
D. 21-slot chassis with redundant power supply option
The modular housing will offer opportunities for multi-head video applications with more than two video heads.
